Why Our Boiler Service Plan Is Different
Why a good boiler service plan should be clear, local and based on the condition of the boiler.
Published by Vector Heat
Boiler cover can sound reassuring until the small print appears, usually carrying a clipboard and bad news.
Our boiler service plan is different because we want to assess the boiler before offering cover, keep the terms clear and support customers locally with our own team.
Quick answer: what makes our boiler service plan different?
Vector Heat service plans are built around real boiler condition, annual servicing, local support, clear terms and direct-employed engineers. We assess the boiler first so customers are not sold cover that is unlikely to help them.
The boiler is checked before cover begins
Cover is a poor bargain if the boiler is already in poor condition or the important parts are no longer available.
Before arranging cover, we check whether the boiler is serviceable, whether parts are available and whether it makes sense to cover it.
That protects the customer and keeps the plan honest.
The attendance area is deliberately local
The plan covers Lincoln and surrounding villages.
Our same-day attendance policy depends on keeping the area realistic. A national-looking map would be impressive right up to the moment an engineer had to cross half the country.
Who attends a breakdown
Breakdown and service visits are handled by directly employed Vector Heat engineers rather than an anonymous subcontractor network.
The office can see the service history, previous recommendations and work completed on the system before arranging the visit.
What to understand before paying for cover
Good boiler cover should not require a law degree and a lie down.
Customers should understand:
- what is included
- what is excluded
- how callouts work
- what happens if parts are unavailable
- how annual servicing fits in
- when replacement may be better than repair
Why generic boiler cover can disappoint
Large national cover can work for some people, but customers often get frustrated by exclusions, delays, subcontractors and claims that feel less generous once the fault appears.
Our approach is more practical. We would rather tell you honestly whether your boiler is suitable for cover than sell a plan that lets everyone down later.
FAQs about boiler service plans
Is boiler cover worth it?
It can be worth it if the boiler is in suitable condition, parts are available and the terms are clear. It is less useful if the boiler is already near the end of its life.
Why do you assess the boiler first?
Because cover should be based on the real condition of the appliance. We do not want customers paying for a plan that is unlikely to help them.
Do service plans replace annual servicing?
No. Annual servicing is usually part of keeping the boiler safe, maintained and eligible for continued cover.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Our service plan work is handled by the Vector Heat team.
What happens if my boiler cannot be repaired?
We will explain the issue clearly and advise whether repair or replacement is the sensible route.
Want cover based on the boiler you actually own?
We assess the boiler's condition and parts availability before offering a plan, so the cover starts with an appliance we can sensibly support.
