What Is a Heat Geek?
A Heat Geek is a heating engineer who has passed assessed training in the maths and science behind heating systems. They understand how the system works and can apply that knowledge to its design, installation and performance.

What makes a Heat Geek different?
Heat Geek training breaks down the principles behind heating, building knowledge that applies to boilers, heat pumps, radiators, underfloor heating and pipework.
Understanding that's tested
Each module includes thorough assessments. To pass the training, engineers must demonstrate that they understand the material and can apply what they have learned.
Knowledge of the whole system
That understanding informs pipe sizing, radiator output, heat-source selection and operating temperatures. Engineers can explain how a change to one part affects the rest.
Support from other installers
Heat Geek installation engineers have technical support from Heat Geek and an online community of fellow installers. They share experience and specialist advice to help each other solve challenging jobs.
What qualifications does a Heat Geek have?
Heat Geek's technical courses develop an engineer's design knowledge. The heat-pump installation qualification and MCS certification have separate roles.
- Awakening & Mastery: Heat Geek's technical design courses cover heat loss, radiators, pipe sizing, water flow and controls.
- Installergy: a NOCN-accredited Level 3 heat-pump qualification. Completing it includes an installation through Heat Geek's platform. This is a separate qualification from the Awakening and Mastery design courses.
- MCS certification: for an installation booked through Heat Geek, Heat Geek acts as the MCS-certified primary installer and oversees the work.

Can a Heat Geek look at my existing system?
Yes. You can ask us about the heating you already have, including a system fitted by another installer.
Cold rooms, high bills, poor hot water or a heat pump repeatedly starting and stopping need proper diagnosis. We look at the symptoms, settings and system before recommending work.
That includes:
- How the rooms and hot water perform.
- Temperatures, schedules and controls.
- Radiators, water flow and pipework.
- Fault history and available running data.
Tell us your postcode, the make and model, what's happening and any changes already tried. Photos and previous survey or commissioning records help us prepare.
For routine maintenance, use our heat pump service booking. Tell us about performance problems beforehand so we can arrange the right visit.

How do I book a Heat Geek?

A few more questions
Does every visit come with the Heat Geek Guarantee?
No. The Heat Geek Guarantee applies to installations through its scheme, subject to the installation terms. It covers the quoted overall heating and hot-water efficiency. A visit to assess or service an existing system does not automatically give it that guarantee.
