Replacing an oil boiler
Start with the system you already have
We carry out oil boiler replacement across Lincolnshire, including indoor, external and combi installations. If your boiler keeps breaking down, parts are becoming difficult to find or you want to move it out of the kitchen, we can assess the options and give you a fixed quotation for the agreed work.
An older oil boiler is not automatically finished. We want to know its condition, what has already been repaired and what you would be spending to keep it going. If a repair is still sensible, we will say so.

Tank and oil supply
We look at the tank's condition, its base and position, the oil line and safety arrangements. Replacing a boiler does not automatically mean replacing the tank. It does mean checking that the existing supply is suitable.
Flue and condensate
The new boiler needs a suitable flue and a drain for the condensate it produces. We check the route, nearby doors and windows, and how to protect exposed pipework from freezing.
Radiators and hot water
We check the cylinder, pumps, valves and controls, as well as how well the rooms heat. Tell us about cold radiators or disappointing showers before the installation, so we can allow for the right work.

Choose the layout that suits your home
An external oil boiler can free up space inside. But moving one outside needs more than a weatherproof case: the base, heating pipes, oil supply, electrical supply and drainage all need planning.
If you already have a cylinder and it meets your needs, a regular boiler replacement can be the least disruptive option. A system boiler is another possibility where a sealed heating system is suitable.
An oil combi supplies heating and hot water without a separate cylinder. Before recommending one, we check how many showers and taps you use together and what the mains supply can deliver. Removing the cylinder is only an improvement if the new arrangement suits your household.

What goes into your oil boiler replacement quote?
The quote covers the proposed boiler and the work needed to install it at your property. Keeping the same position is usually simpler than moving outside or changing the hot-water arrangement. We survey first so the flue, oil supply, drainage and access are included in the decision.
- Boiler model, output and manufacturer's guarantee.
- Removal of the old boiler and installation of the new appliance.
- Flue, condensate and any agreed pipework or control changes.
- System cleaning, filter and water treatment appropriate to the installation.
- Commissioning, registration, required notification and a controls handover.
A full power flush is not an automatic extra. The water condition and system history decide how much cleaning is needed. Any tank, cylinder or radiator work is set out separately so you can see what you are buying.

Protect, remove and install
Oil boilers are heavy. We normally use two engineers to move them, protecting floors, doors and surfaces. Most replacements take one full day; extra work is allowed for in the schedule.
Commission and explain
We test and set up the boiler to the manufacturer's instructions, check heating and hot water, and show you the controls. We explain the guarantee and annual servicing requirements before handing over.

Your boiler installation questions
How long does an oil boiler replacement take?
Normally one full day. We usually have two engineers on the job because oil boilers are heavy and need moving carefully. A boiler move, cylinder replacement, tank work or a particularly dirty system can add time. We agree the expected duration before starting.
Do I need a new oil tank with a new boiler?
Not automatically. We assess the existing tank, base, position and oil supply. If they are suitable, they can stay. Any required tank or supply work should be identified and included in the agreed scope before the boiler is replaced.
Can you move my oil boiler outside?
Yes, where there is a suitable position. We need an external model, a suitable base, safe flue positioning, protected pipework and an appropriate condensate route. Moving outside adds work, so we price it separately from a same-position replacement.
Can I replace my oil boiler with a combi?
Often, but we check hot-water use and the incoming mains supply first. An oil combi can remove the need for a separate cylinder. Keeping a cylinder may make more sense if your household uses several hot-water outlets at once.
Will a new oil boiler reduce my oil bills?
Replacing an older non-condensing boiler with a condensing model can reduce fuel use. The saving depends on the old boiler, heating temperatures, controls and the way you use the house. We do not promise a fixed percentage or a payback period without assessing those details.
What guarantee will the new boiler have?
We confirm the manufacturer's guarantee for the proposed boiler in your quotation and register the appliance after installation. The available term depends on the model and installation package. Follow the manufacturer's servicing requirements to keep the cover valid.
